Another great CAFIB success!!!

On Saturday, April 11, at the foot of Serra da Mantiqueira range, former Caminho Real do Ouro used at the time when Brazil was Portugal’s colony in the South of Minas Gerais, land that gave origin to the Fila Brasileiro, the 2nd INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF BREEDERS OF FILA BRASILEIRO of CAFIB BRASIL was carried through in Itanhandu-MG, where several themes were discussed, among others, Temperament, Movement and Natural Feeding.

On the next day, starting at 9 am, the traditional ANALYSIS OF PHENOTYPE AND TEMPERAMENT (AFT) of CAFIB was held, where 18 specimens were enrolled, and one failed by disqualifying temperament.

After our AFT, tribute was paid to CAFIB’s couple Marisa and Jorge Hino, founders of the Hisama Kennel, which in 1984 joined CAFIB and made a huge contribution to the improvement of the Fila Brasileiro, being responsible for the development of several champions. This tribute, which thrilled everyone, including his daughter Beth Hino, relied on the reading of an appreciation written by Airton Campbell and this was acknowledged by all those attending especially a large part of CAFIB’s Old School.

Soon afterwards, the 98th NATIONAL EXHIBITION OF THE FILA BRASILEIRO and the 8th EXHIBITION OF ITANHANDU, which featured 55 entries and 51 specimens on track. It is worth mentioning that in all Classes homogeneous specimens were exposed, both on phenotype and temperament, fruit of the improvement work developed 37 years ago by CAFIB, always aiming at the preservation of the Fila Brasileiro. What was found on the track and, therefore, in practice, was the improvement reached both in typicality, nervous system and temperament, with very good structures and heads. Thirteen specimens participated in the final TT all having had very good performances, as it is observed in several videos and photos posted recently on the web.

During the event, we relied on the presence of various CAFIB Fila breeders, as well as from other clubs. We were greatly pleased to receive again Jose Mario and Ligia Rojas Ocampo, from Costa Rica, who in their San Isidro Kennel have 21 CAFIB Filas, as well as old members, among them, Ângelo Hypólito, from São Lourenço-MG, Lucia and Haley Galioti from Brasília, Roberto and Shirley from Guarulhos-SP, Tadeu and Claudia Guimarães, from the Kangussu Kennel in Umuarama-PR, Erica and Alexandre from Lambari-MG, Joseane Lopes from JL Kennel and Sergio Lavras, among others.

And also:

We truly missed the presence of our President, Luciano Gavião, who could not attend, but was represented by CAFIB directors Airton Campbell and Américo Cardoso Santos Jr, who helped out in our traditional AFT; as well as Rodrigo and Brenda Queiroz, from Kennel Terras de Patrocínio-MG, but who sent their Fila and also Carlos Feijó, founder of CAFIB-Rio.

• the organizer Cintia Junqueira who made herself all the trophies handed out to all the three first places of all Classes, in addition to the winners.

After the Show, which ended only at 9 pm, there was a big celebration among the participants with the sampling of the excellent feijoada prepared especially by Lady Elza on Farm Guapiara.
